The main venue of the CISH Centennial Conference will be the campus of the Educational Science Center of the University of Leipzig. With state-of-the-art facilities and technical equipment, the Center for Educational Sciences is one of the most modern buildings of the university. The venue is located in the western part of the city and offers both the nearby city center (about 10 min by Tram).
The Opening and Closing Ceremonies will take place in the Paulinum, the university’s church and event space on the main campus in the city center.
The conference venue is located about 10-15 minutes via tramway from Leipzig City Center where you can find a variety of hotels in different prize categories.
Leipzig is easily accessible by public transport.
If you travel from outside Germany, you can reach the Airport Leipzig/ Halle (LEJ) via Frankfurt, Vienna, or Istanbul, or you can use one of the connections to Berlin Airport (BER) and go on to Leipzig by train.
When you arrive at Frankfurt Airport, you can choose to take either a direct flight of about 45 minutes to Leipzig/ Halle Airport, which is served from Frankfurt six times a day, or to take the fast train service, which brings you in a little over 3 hours to Leipzig main station.
From the Airport Leipzig/Halle, there is a direct train service (S5X) that brings you within 10 minutes to the main station in Leipzig.
When you arrive at BER Berlin, you go to either Berlin Südkreuz or Berlin main station in order to take the InterCity Express or the Flix train as a cheaper alternative.
Regional as well as international trains take you to Leipzig Hauptbahnhof which is located directly next to Leipzig city center and 10-15 minutes by tram (or 30-35 minutes walking) from the conference venue.
Starting from the main station (Hauptbahnhof Leipzig) you can take the tram lines 3, 7, or 15 until “Sportforum Süd”, which is directly in front of the conference venue.
Looking for a bit of exercise before or after the panel programme. A brisk walk of about 30-35 minutes along “Jahnallee” takes you from Leipzig city center / Leipzig main station to the conference venue.
Please note that parking spaces at the conference venue are very limited, we encourage you to use public transport.
